U11 Match Report 11/04/10 - Round Tower V Westmanstown - Monastery Rd
Playing on probably the warmest day of the year so far, the U11 footballers lined out against Westmanstown for their first league match of the season.  The game got off to a lively start with Towers scoring 3 points before Westmanstown replied with a point.  An Eoin Murphy goal followed by a point from Conor Flannery stretched the Towers lead, with Westmanstown pulling a goal back before the break.
At the start of the second half, an Oran Shelly point for Towers was followed by something of a rally with Westmanstown scoring a goal and a point.  These were to prove the last scores of the game for the liffey siders, who were thereafter outplayed in midfield and restricted by a great Towers rear guard, with Leigh Wilson outstanding.
Further Towers scores followed including an outstanding fisted goal by Stephen following a pin point pass by Adam Behan from midfield.  An injection of pace upfront following the introduction of Arron Douglas meant Towers ran out 4-7 to 2-2 on the day for a good start to their league campaign.
Their next match is a cup semi final away to Good Counsel on 24th April.  Good luck lads!

U11 Match Report - Round Tower v Lucan Sarsfields - 06/02/10 - 12th Lock
The U11 footballers continued their good start to the season and remain unbeaten in the league with a classy win over Lucan Sarsfield. Playing away on the new Astro turf pitch, the Towers lads found their rhythm early on with scores from Conor Flannery and Conor Flynn settling the nerves.  As the game wore on, the tireless midfield partnership of Adam Behan and Eoin Murphy began to dominate the 12th Lock lads.  With the Towers back line restricting the 12th Lock lads to a single point, particular credit is due to Sean Lyons and Neill Murphy who worked hard all morning in an outstanding defensive performance. Some well taken scores in the second half ensured that Towers ran out 5-09 to 0-01 winners on the day for a well deserved win.
